EngineeringRC Model Airplane — Flight Competition
Designed, analyzed, and built a remote-controlled aircraft that took off, flew stably, and carried a 0.5 payload fraction in a flight competition.
- Iterated from a symmetric NACA 0012 to a NACA 4412 airfoil after flight testing showed insufficient lift
- Ran CFD on the airfoil in ANSYS Fluent and FEA on the wing structure in Abaqus
- Verified stability and mass distribution in XFLR5 before the final build
